T&L’s favourite foodie Sisley White looks at Wimbledon Park Food Festival, goes on a London brunch tour and goes to the Putney Food Assembly

Family Food Festival
This August Bank Holiday sees the return for the third year of the Wimbledon Park Food Festival.
With more than 40 stallholders and a huge range of food and drink, this year’s event will be the biggest yet. There will be a vast array of food on offer to satisfy all the family from Vietnamese street food, Mexican burritos, British pies, retro ice cream, wood-fire cooked pizza, artisan beers and gourmet burgers. For children there will be garden games, face painting and a storyteller to keep them entertained. We’d also recommend checking out the cookery demonstration stage to learn cooking and baking tips from brilliant chefs.
Tickets cost £8 per adult, £5 per child and under 5s go free

Community Food
In Putney join the Food Assembly, a social enterprise bringing producers and farmers directly to the customer and cutting out the supermarkets. Order your groceries through the website and there is a weekly collection point in the Duke’s Head pub on the Lower Richmond Road where you can meet the farmers and producers themselves as you pick up your delicious food. It is a wonderful way to support local food producers and farmers with all the food coming from within 150 miles. Similar Assemblies have been opening in the last few months around London and the concept was awarded the Best British Food Initiative by the BBC Food and Farming Award in 2015.
