The ‘South Side Swizzler’

Popular bar and eaterie, Balans, have just opened their seventh branch in Clapham, with late-opening hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. In honour of the opening, they created a new cocktail called ‘South Side Swizzler’; we asked them to reveal the recipe for you to enjoy at home.

The 'South Side Swizzler'
  • 25ml vodka (Our/London Vodka)
  • 25ml limoncello (Pococello Limoncello)
  • 25ml lemon
  • 15ml gomme syrup
  • 5 slaped mint leaves
  • 50ml soda
  1. Pour the vodka, limoncello, lemon and gomme syrup into a tall glass over ice, and stir well with a bar spoon.
  2. Slap the mint leaves between your hands to release their scent and stir in, not too vigorously as to bruise them.
  3. Add soda and give one final stir.
  4. Top with fresh ice, garnish with edible viola and serve.
