A great local pizzeria is something that everyone should have ready on hand. Here is our pick of the best local pizzerias.

Cult Copenhagen pizza restaurant, Mother, has chosen to launch its first international restaurant in Battersea Power Station’s Circus West Village. If you do pop by, make sure you try its famous Seawater Sourdough Pizza.

Popular with Italian diners – always a good sign – this local gem is owned and run by a Neapolitan family. They import essential ingredients from Naples itself, and their signature pizza base – a combination of fermented honey, yoghurt and Himalayan pink salt – is a wood-fired delight.

Winners of the Best Takeaway award at the 2017 Time & Leisure Food and Drink Awards is Pizza Euphoria; but rest assured that their cosy restaurant is also a delightful place for an evening out. As my own family local restaurant, I can say that one is warmly greeted on every arrival, and once you have been there two or three times, they remember your name and your favourite drink / food order, making you feel like a treasured guest. Oh, and their pizzas are delicious too!

10 Merton Park Parade, London SW19 3NT

In a quirky setting on Putney High Street is Il Mascalzone, which serves up an array of some of the most delicious pizza I have ever tasted. The servings are big, the service is friendly and the atmosphere had a pleasant balance between fun and calm. Try their half calzone, half pizza – I haven’t seen that option in many pizzerias and can happily vouch for how tasty it is!

41 Putney High Street, London SW15 1SP

Sweeping up the Best Family Friendly award at the T&L Food and Drink Awards, Al Forno offers a fun, bubbly atmosphere and tasty, authentic Italian food from a family-run restaurant. The bare beams and bricks provide the backdrop for a pleasant ambience and there is a wide selection of food that all the family will enjoy.

1-2-3a High Street, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1LY

Rustic Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist, staged in a former 16th century Roman tavern in Epsom. Authentic Italian dishes are served up by Chef patron Enzo Baldascino, and the pizza is highly recommended by all.
